I'd be curious to know when Motta began building bikes. And also why they seem to be so uncommon over here. Perhaps just had little interest in exporting to the US?

Thanks to a Dutch CR Listmember I discovered only this winter that one of my own bikes was built by Gianni Motta some time during the mid 70s. They were commissioned to be built by Motta for the Dutch factory racing team at the insistence of the new team manager who was a former Molteni teammate of Eddy Merckx. Definitely classic 1970s Italian racing looks on my bike... and a fine ride.

Here's a web page about my bike, but you can just scroll down to the bottom and go right to the page of thumbnails which will enlarge to around 800x600.
