Hello, Does anyone have any better pictures of the Acme stand? Thanks, chris ioakimedes Fairfax California -----Original Message----- From: classicrendezvous-bounces@bikelist.org [mailto:classicrendezvous-bounces@bikelist.org] On Behalf Of David Toppin Sent: Sunday, April 22, 2007 4:26 PM To: oroboyz@aol.com Cc: 'Classic Rendevous' Subject: RE: [CR]Copake Swap pictures
Dale,
That stand is called an Acme stand, they are fairly common in the very old world, the G&J wasn't nickeled, all the paint was taken off and the frame was sanded. It looked nice, but not correct. The guy wanted 1200 which is way too much for that.

Thanks Sashae for the pics!
That is so nice for those of us who can't make it, to be able to see a peek of the goings on!
And Flickr is awesome! Especially having such easy access to the larger image size! How else would I so easily spot the dent in the underside of the down tube on that Retynolds SL Cuevas? :)
Very interesting never-seen-before wooden bike stand supporting that nickel plated turn of the century GJ bike too. Made it up to the swap yesterday, where I saw Ed Albert and Peter
Weigle
(nice to meet the both of you!) Fun time, beautiful weather, some nice
bikes. I put a set of a few photos up on Flickr for those interested --
