For sale: Complete 1981 (F date code) Dura Ace AX gruppo!

This set came on a Bertin with aluminum Vitus tubes, and it was extremely light when fully assembled. The frame was way too large for me, so I removed the parts and had begun installing them on a regular Vitus that fits me. However, the Bertin was French threaded, and it turns out the Vitus has English threads, therefore some of the parts were incompatible. This stalled the project long enough that I've moved on, and now so will the nice AX group move on to someone else. Some parts are all I have, while others have options.

DA AX group includes, with no choice: Handlebars - special angled ends, 38cm c-c at the brakes, and 41.5cm c-c at ends.

Stem - 22.0 quill, 26mm clamp, 120mm reach - top cap has crack inside the 6mm tool fitting, and now requires a 1/4" Allen tool and gentleness when tightening.

Cranks - Dyna Drive, 170mm x 52/42 teeth - light use scratches.

Front Derailleur - clamp-on, with little clamp shim (similar to shim used with 1950s Campy G.S. fronts).

Rear Derailleur - with special pivoting cable routing mechanism - light use scratches.

Brake Calipers - short reach, Allen nut, but at least one may have improper adjuster.

Brake Levers - aero, some pepper marks on the blades, with lightly aged but solid GUM hoods.

Headset - French 25x1", complete with clear plastic dust cover.

Hubs - low flange, 36 hole, 126/100mm - some cracks & small chips in the plastic ends on the front.

Rims - Mavic Module {{ E2, 700c clinchers, shiny aluminum - need more polish than the rest.

Other AX or DA options are (pick one for each part type): Seatpost - DA AX 25.0mm, OR very similar looking DA in 27.2mm that needs more polish than the rest.

Pedals - DA AX Dyna Drive with DA Toe Clips, OR if you don't like the fat spindle ends and have adapters, black cage DA with standard spindles, and same toe clips.

Bottom Bracket - DA AX French 35xP1 107mm spindle, OR DA English 1.37x24T 112mm spindle.

Shifters - 600 AX for aero top of d/t mount AND extra set of same size DA AX levers only, OR DA for standard braze-on d/t mount.

Also included is a SUPER QUIET 6 speed 13-23 index toothed freewheel - no markings visible other than INDEX and tooth counts. Let me repeat ... this freewheel is ULTRA quiet ... I thought it wasn't working at first! Is this an AX freewheel, anyone?

Also included is an unusual looking Sachs chain that came with and seems fitting for the group.

NOT included are the tires and inner tubes ... sorry, I need them elsewhere.

I suppose I could also swap out the French threaded AX headset for an English threaded DA model, if buyer is so inclined.

That's the whole shebang. Complete gruppo is $525.00, INCLUDING Continental US shipping, or $500 and I will kick in $25 toward overseas or international shipping. First email that says "Me! Me! Me!" gets it.

Basic pics of the entire group and options can be seen here: http://www.wooljersey.com/gallery/fujifish1/ID_or_Sale/DuraAce81AXGruppo/

Thanks for looking!
