Both of my late 70s/early 80s Gios Super Record frames had/have original Gold Plastic fork crown coins. The "gold" plating would wear off to reveal a base silver color, so it's easy to confuse what the original color should actually be. In most case some of the original gold will remain in the impressed letter sections of "GIOS". I don't recall that any of the original era Super Record frames using metal coins --- think the later replacement coins were made in metal with the same gold color treatment.
