Subject: [CR]How to read a Cinelli S/N ?

I'm working on a Cinelli SC most likely from 1969. The s/n is stamped on the underside of the BB on the non drive side. With the bike upside down and reading from the non drive side the s/n is 6089. In reviewing the Cinelli registry, I noticed the same s/n assigned to a 1955 SC. I thought this was peculiar then it dawned on me that if I read the s/n from the drive side it would be 6809. What is the correct way to read the s/n? Also, does the s/n actually mean something...i.e. if it really is 6809, would this indicate 1968?

If only it were as easy to decode as a Carlsbad Masi!
