Subject: [CR]Disappearing Tranditional Bikes

Thanks to all those folks who contributed to my subject and whilst its still fresh in peoples minds I would like to point out it was my intention

to include all types of classic machines not only the lightweights which so many made comparisons with in their reply. I found it quite difficult to put the subject into words without going outside the rules of the listing.

However I have now learnt there appears to be more of future in the States than here in the UK where new traditional frame builders are up and coming. Our frame builders and manufacturers are now few in number and very expensive for the ordinary man in the street.

Back to the whole reason for my message and the lack of steel bikes actually in use in the UK by ordinary club members , tourists and the every day domestic user alike. None of these people can go into a UK cycle shop and purchase an all steel tubing bike, any accessories if available are added as extras.

So perhaps this explanation puts my idea to compare the availability of the traditional steel bike into context. Any new buyers today have to purchase the modern versions because there is no other choice! .
