Good day all,
Last Wednesday I had the good fortune to be able to pay a visit to former
TdF stagewinner Rini Wagtmans. A very interesting man, not only for his
achievements as an amateur and pro rider, but also later as businessman and
national coach. Besides that, it's quite an experience to be sized up as
'someone difficult to coach' within 5 minutes of my visit!
Anyway, knowing my interest in framebuilding, he showed me his 1965 Remy
time trial frame. I think it has some nice features for its time. Here is
the link for some pictures:

Some of you might remember (I posted that story about half a year ago) that Remy produced Garin labelled frames for some time in the 50s, which happened through the connection with Wim van Est, a Dutch cycling legend and TdF stagewinner/yellow jersey wearer. Rini Wagtmans now lives in the house of Wim van Est. it seems i was on historic ground last Wednesday!
