What was the first year for the braze-on front derailleur fitting?

I'm fairly certain this frame I'm going to build up had one added after the fact, and I just had it restored, but forgot to have the damned thing removed. Ouch!

So, I may go with a later parts group, what the hell... So, first year of that braze-on?
