I'm not known as a Italophile, although I did bring a mid-80's Torpado Italia for my wife to a weekend in Fredricksburg, TX weekend before last and did 50 km between the rains on a KOF celeste Bianchi TSX/UL in Houston Saturday. But something about a Ciocc Mockba just appeals to me. Maybe it's that I remember the 80 Olympics in Moscow, or maybe it's just that Ciocc was a bit different.

This was purchased in March from Mark Buswell of SF here on the CR List. (and thanks Mark for the aces packing job!) as a frameset. Now back on the road with the usual Campagnolo 2nd gen Super Record gruppo, Ambrosio rims etc. tutti Italiani. .
A machine of exceptional finish (I don't know how or why, but this Ciocc has the bestest chrome I've ever seen on a bike frame, including my 1950s Raleighs), brilliant handling (the classic early 1980s stiff angles, uber responsive handling and harsh ride which is a gratifying contrast to some of my other machines) and one of those bikes that ran like a dream and old friend from the first ride.
