For what its worth, my near NOS 753 Look Bernard Hinault had a 27.2 seat tube, as evidenced by the 27.2 Campy C-Record seatpost. It also had English BB and headset threads.

Since Mike Mullett positively Id'd John's bike as an Ilkeston 753 team pro I have a question. Assuming that the measurement of the seat tube is correct ( 27.2 vs the metric 27) one would say the seat tube is 531. Why would someone want a 753 bike with a 531 seat tube? strength for a heavier rider? gear masher/sprinter type?

thanks
