>From what i see in the pictures this bike has nothing in common with the
earlier Bauer bikes made until the 70ies. Just an ordinary Bauer labeled
standard ten-speed from the late 70ies. As far as I know at that time
the original Bauer factory did not exist anymore. The name was sold to
some other manufacturer who just labelled gas-pipe frames Bauer. I had
one of those as my first bike and although mine hade some nice parts and
it was a deluxe version, the frame was chunk, stamped dropouts, cheaply
brazed and water or gas pipes. Original Buers from the 50ies and 60ies
have realy nice liúgs and chrome and are 531 througout. The bike might
be worth the 75$ if it was in pristine condition but it does not look
like that. As far as I know you get nicer bikes for daily use for that
price.
I just wonder who brought that kind of bike over....
