I've had that problem and the solution for me was simply to use Campagnolo screws. Note that these changed in length over the years. E.g. the ones that Campagnolo used on their mounting bands were shorter than the ones used for brazed-on shifters. You might need the longer ones (which are more common these days anyway.)
