Yes, I think the SunTour Cyclone stuff is cool enough for a classy US frame. Wasn't the top of their line of course, but had its own separate attraction and value, especially the Mk II stuff. Kind of like comparing Dura Ace from the early 80s to 600 Arabesque from the same time. Also it's more versatile than Superbe Pro, where the Mk II rear der. can shift to a 28 cog and handle the chain length of a triple, and the Mk II front der has a longer N.Record-shaped cage that can also shift over three rings or a wider range double.
I showed up for a club ride in Dun Laoghaire, Ireland, in the early 80s and one rider showed up on brand new Cyclone Mk II stuff and all the others riding Campy and Shimano gathered around, clearly jealous of how good Cyclone looked.
