Thanks for the info about your Medici.
I questioned the wheel size because I measure 57 mm drop, or reach, on the front fork with a 700c wheel. That's quite a bit. I measured from
the center of the brake bolt in the crown to the center of the rim. What is the drop on your front fork? Any chance you could send me a photo of those brakes you are using?
Medici is no longer in business, but Gian Simonetti, who I believe was the motivating force behind Medici, might still be making bicycles down in So. Cal. Don't have his contact info. You can probably do a search on the internet and find him.

Just wanted to say that I agree with Charles Andrews, and his thoughts about Medici bikes. I worked for a SoCal shop that sold a number of their bikes (mostly the 'Pro-Pista' & 'Pro-Strada' models- though we also sold a custom-order 69cm 'Gran Tourismo' model, to a customer who was nearly 7' tall). Customers were consistently thrilled with their bikes, never a complaint. My own most-frequently ridden bike is a 'Gran Tourismo' model- it sees duty year-round, as it is my only bike that has fenders & a rack ...light, comfortable, and very nice to ride! Jay Sexton asked about wh eel sizes/ brake calipers on the 'Gran Tourismo' model- mine uses 700c wh eels, and was originally spec'd with Campy NR long-reach brakes; those we nt to another project, and were replaced with Gran Compe centerpulls- the ones that look like satin-anodized Mafac units (don't know the model #). Question of my own- is Medici still in buisness, & where can I contact t hem, if so?
