Since many comments have been made about Rene Herse bicycles in the past day or two, I wanted to pass this bit of information on to list members. In 1974, I had the good fortune to attend the World Cycling Championships which were held in Montreal. a watershed event in cycling history as many of us in North America got an opportunity to see Eddy Merckx, Raymond Poulidor,Bernard Thevenet, Felice Gimondi as well as gape at their bikes. The woman's road race was won by Genevieve Gambillon of France, and as I can speak French,she proudly showed a little group of us after the race her custom made Rene Herse bicycle ,emerald green in color, and built with Reynolds 531 tubes throughout. So Rene Herse can add those world championships stripes on their frames. I think Mike Cone and Mark Nobilette would particularly enjoy this story.
