Subject: [CR]WTB brakeset or rear brake fixing for 1930's Alcyon road frame

Hi all,

I've recently bought the circa 1938 Alcyon frameset Hilary had for sale on eBay, and while I have some 1930's Bowden racing brakes, the Alcyon's seat stay bridge is drilled for a vertical brake fixing, instead of the more usual horizontal.

I realise that it's a long shot, but does anyone have a suitable set of brakes, a single rear brake caliper, or even just the vertical fixing which I can use to modify my own brakes? I can legally use it over here with just a front brake if I ride it fixed, but I'd like to use gears (preferably an Osgear) for which two brakes are essential.
