I finally received my box of parts for my 1933 Finlay Bros. Barb--- I have a question for all of you.
All the parts are pretty "cruddy/rusty/pitted" and as expected will need to be replated (nickel)- my question is this: how do I handle things like a brake caliper and lever that cannot be dissasembled without destroying rivets, etc?? How would I handle something like that for replating? This my first forray into parts this old. Australia does not have the best weather for preserving steel!
Any info/help would be greatly appreciated, Chuck Schlesinger Sadilah Handmade Framesets San Diego, CA USA
