I seek to buy (or trade for) a pair of 700c hook-bead rims (or wheels) that are or look like vintage ones. All other things, wider is better, but that is a weak preference. Otherwise, reckon I'll have to tap my abundant supply of sew-up wheels for L'Eroica, hoping that my tires are wide enuf.
Would prefer naked rims, but wheels would be considered. No 27", please. I want rims that will true up as well as new ones and don't show significant sidewall thickness loss, but not nearly as concerned about cosmetics as performance: the bike is a rider.
Given the horror stories on the price of shipping rims from overseas, and my unwillingness to ask that they be disassembled and coiled tightly to fit a smaller package [ :-) ], I suspect this is a North American request.
