Subject: [CR]MKM For Sale......23"

Greetings All,

I'm offering this Mason & Metcalfe bicycle to the members first.

The frame was purported to be a 1972, but if you read the archives, you'll find that precise dating of an MKM is a bit tricky. This one has the M&M head badge and MKM on the downtube, which seems to indicate a transition time (1972-74). It is one of the very few frames I have had refinished, and did so because the original paint was badly faded and cracked and also, it reminded me a great deal of my 1973 Raleigh RRA (nice old memories). It measures 23" (to top) and has a 22 1/2" top tube; Campagnolo vertical rear dropouts (122mm spacing) with a chainstay length of 15 3/4" and the wheelbase is 40" - I measure seat tube angle as 73o and head tube 72 1/2o; Full Reynolds 531 frameset, with longish non cutout lugs which are nicely thinned.

It is built up with Campagnolo NR headset; Seat post; Shifters and Derailleurs; The rest of the bike features a "Kitching Connection" with Milremo Hubs (Normandy Competition - Red Label); NOS Super Champion Rims laced 4x in the rear with DT 14/15, and 3x in the front with same; TA Professional 5 pin crankset (52x40); Zeus pedals; Milremo toe clips and Binda straps (NOS); Ideale 80 saddle; Milremo stem; Wolber Neo Pro tires (NOS); Weinmann 500 brakes (calipers are NOS - levers are used, but excellent); Bars are GB engraved with GB end plugs and brown Tressostar tape; Chain (Regina Corsa) cables and housing are all new; Freewheel is an Atom 5 speed (14-22) and I will also include a Milremo stamped Atom 5 speed (14-26);

I'll have pictures available later today.

$1150.00 shipping included within the Continental U.S.
