Not only was the bike presented to the Pope full Campagnolo Super Record, the frame was fully gold-plated!(As were many Colnago "Oros" presented to various royals, and other celebrities, etc., over a period of years-I don't believe Clapton was among them, however) Whether the Pope wasn't a fan of bike-bling, or whether he wasn't up to riding a full race bike, I don't know, but, in any event, he gave the bike back to Colnago for a more conventional model. The returned Oro bike is currently in Colnago's showroom in Cambiago where I saw it some months ago. Sadly, it's quite dilapidated now. George Hollenberg MD Westport, CT, USA
