Pic of the Day 9 July, 2007
Rocky Road
Stage 10, 1957 Tour de France. Torrential rains have washed away part of the road leading to the Col du Télégraph, so the riders must cross a section of stone road bed. Only Jozef Plankaert (leading) is willing to risk his delicate tubulars on the rough rocks - all the others travel on foot. From "Miroir-Sprint" No.579A, 8th July 1957.
