Subject: [CR]Cottered cranks/bottom brackets

Hi,

I would appreciate your comments on availability of cottered bottom brackets these days. I am investigating this for a "project" and am trying to decide whether to go with cottered cranks which would be the period correct thing for this project (no, it is neither the F W Evans nor the Falcon I posted questions about recently) or square taper. A quick ebay search yielded surprisingly few hits for cottered bottom brackets - in fact, none are available on ebay Canada ATM. Considering the abundance of other styles bottom brackets on ebay I found this strange and am having doubts about how easy it would be to find a suitable (wrt length etc) cottered bottom bracket - hence would appreciate your advice on this.

Also, if you'd care to comment on any other, perhaps non-obvious, aspects of using/maintaining cottered cranks that too will be much appreciated as I've only used them when a small kid...

Thank you.
