No idea about the history of the company. But, here's a Pino "designed" ROTO made seat post. According to listmember Gene D. who knew Pino well, ROTO changed the post design, resulting in a much more delicate product than that of Pino. This ROTO post is indeed cracked.

Hello,
Earlier in the week Tom Sanders brought up the Roto name. I have an nos Pino BB made by Roto and I was just wondering if anyone knows the history of this company? I recently saw a rear derailleur on Ebay - did they make a front? What was their quality like?
Thanks, Mike Short, Austin Tx Still looking for Gloria, Picchio, Galmozzi, Montelatici, Grandis, Condor!
