You know, I think I am more impressed by that performance than by the last twenty or so Tour de France victories. No fat paycheck, no paid massuers, soigneurs, directeurs sportifs, chefs or doctors. No fancy motor home or team cars with radios. And no performance enhancing drugs, except maybe caffeine. Yet 1200 km in 48 hours. Well done, indeed.

Group---- just heard from Jan's better half, who is just thankful that he finished in one piece. THIS IS ALL UNOFFICIAL, AND SUBJECT TO CORRECTION/REVISION--- seems as if he was a bit tired while relaying info.. time was right at 48 hours... about what he was shooting for... ?? Fastest American? About 26th overall? Awful conditions with lots of rain and hail. About 1000 withdrawals due to weather. Not sure about any of this, of course, but thought I'd pass it on for correction later...
I wonder if they issue black leather, whips and chains, of do you have to bring your own?
