Looks early to mid-sixties to me. My dad worked in a bike shop as a doctoral student in the mid-sixties and it looks a lot like the Carlton frames in the shop then to me. They actually sold them as framesets only, The Ebay bike obviously has a lot of unoriginal parts, but I suspect the stopped front derailleur and the shifters with the bottom point filed off the clamp to match the downtube stop braze on are original fitment to the frame. Weren't those frames sold simply as "Professional" model?
