I'll agree with Brian that there is alot to know. However, that is highly dependent on your previous painting experience as well as your expectations. This link shows the most common professional method (media blast, epoxy primer, color,clear,decals,etc). Be prepared to do lots of sanding between top coats. The single biggest thing in painting is preperation, time and patience.
