I'm not sure the early Dura-Ace Hoods were ever widely available. Shimano was very spotty about parts availability in the 1970's. You either couldn't get parts or you could get a card of 100 (for small parts). Since you could never sell 100, you didn't buy them. The Sugino/Suntour stuff was better supported, especially if you were a Fuji dealer.
