Oh, I'm sure PBP is great fun, of its kind. But, remember, you have to get through a Brevet series first, and I can tell you, from doing a couple of those, it's no joke. More serious fun I honestly cannot recall being involved in, unless you count surfing in waves big enough to do serious damage to one's person unless one is paying a lot of attention.

Brevets of 200, 400 and 600 KMs, with the requirement of meeting all checkpoint times, in all weather, separates the serious from everyone else pretty quickly.

It seemed to me like I'd have to devote a year to just that, and nothing else. Perhaps this next four-year period is the time to get ready.
