I recently acquired a 27" wheelset with gray anodized Mavic red label rims, but no sticker identifying model. They are clinchers and have the box section extrusion and eyelets, 36 h. Any ideas of which model they might be and any distinguishing features? Did the MA 2s ever come with the gray anodizing? MA 40s? I've checked the archives, bikepro.com, then went to rec.bicycles.tech where the technical debate between Brandt, et al, was just overwhelming...no wish to repeat that here.
