Never take these "histories" written by PR hacks as actual fact (my opinion). Why according to the Cinelli "history" Cino invented the leather toe strap!

The things of value to take from the ALAN history is "When the founder of the company, Sig. Ludovic Falconi set the company up in 1972, he thought to use the first two letters of the christian names of each of his two children to form the company name ... so Alberto and his siter Anna contributed "Al" and "An"." And that a ton of Cyclo Cross races were won on ALAN frames.
