Masi thought enough about him to first outsource production to Mario in Italy and then bring him to California to be his shop "head framebuilder". I'd say that is a pretty good vote of confidence by an Italian. And, didn't Jacques Boyer ride a Confente in the Tour de France in the early 80s? I think that would be another validation for a bike doing what it is supposed to do. Regardless, given the collectibility factor, I can't think of another lugged steel road bike "brand" that will consistently receive high bids based on the name on the downtube alone, not counting bikes with the provenance to show that it was ridden in a great race by a great rider.
