Yes, I agree, if someone else was the high bid on it, that would be kinda creepy. But if no one bid on it, or I am the high bidder, there is nothing wrong with me asking the guy to combine the two auctions. And since I was the high bidder, and I am willing to pay a price he finds agreeable, I see nothing wrong with him deciding to sell right off. You are projecting suspicions and circumstances that have nothing to do with what I describe.
You may have issues with eBay, but that doesn't mean other people can't use the same tools successfully, and within the same ruleset as you, but in a different way.
And Craigslist is a joke. Really. $79 Walmart specials for $150 and $400 rusty old stolen frames. It's 49% scammers and 49% lame bike shops.
