When I first got my green Super (direct from Italy with original clover drilled ring, mill fluted post and stem), the features were discussed and it was said that it is a 1974 (it's in the archives somewhere, or maybe I can find it in my files if you want to read it all). She came with a PATENT-73 rear der, CAMP 73 & 74 hub locknuts, and rhombus 4 (1974) cranks.
The frame is just like in the description for 1973 given below, however, there are still no braze-ons for shifters, and there are still two holes in each fork tang, which is incongruent with Version IV's description of changes occurring for 1974.
So, perhaps this frame is a 1973 build, or early 74 that had a carry over still of 73 features, later assembled with 73 & 74 parts, or perhaps there is need for adjustment to the piece.

... but please keep in mind that even though the chainrings, stem and post augmentations are original, the drilled shifters, brake levers, front derailleur body, and rear derailleur pulley cage plates were added by me, are not original, and should not be used in any way for bike dating.
Chuck, I remember you posting a long time ago about not CCing individuals with posts sent to the list, because subscribers will receive them twice, so I've posted this to the list only. Since you have come so far with this new Colnago data compilation, (in addition to the similar hard work viewable in the archives that Eric Elman did a few months ago), I hope you will still keep your response on list. Regardless, I'd like to hear your opinion about it.

Speaking of anomalies, Dan Borden sent me pictures of his 1972 Super (a beauty) and his frame doesn't have bottom bracket brazed-on cable guides! Anyone else seen frames of this vintage without them? Result of a distracted brazing monkey at the factory? The frame's only braze-on is the cable stop on the chainstay.
