Having dealt with Matteo twice in the past, once on a Colnago frame when he just got started on Ebay, I can say I have had the best of buying experiences with him. I won the auction for the Colnago on Sunday night and the frame was in my hands on Thrusday at 3:30pm. It couldn't have been packaged better. Can't say enough about checking a seller's feedback. Even at 97-98% you just might find that the seller at times might take a bit longer to ship. If you really want the item take that into consideration before bidding and don't be upset if it takes 3 or 4 weeks to get to you. Thursday before Labor Day about 14 of my auctions ended at 11:00pm. In the auction description is say e-mail me within 3 days. Well minutes after an auction for a seatpost that went for $5 the winner e-mails me. Being I work at a resort and it was a holiday weekend I didn't have the time to get back and answer questions and e-mails until Saturday morning. By this time the buyer had e-mailed me about 4 or 5 times and was getting fustrated that I hadn't gotten back to him, 48 hours hadn't past. Everything turned out well and he had his post within a week after the close of the auction. Not bad on a holiday weekend. Many buyers don't take into consideration that for many of us this is a hobby and not a full time job with nothing better to do than sit at a computer all day long waiting to answer questions and ship items. As far as sellers go, look at some auctions where the seller wants payment within 24 hours. Again, who sits at their computer just waiting to see if they won an auction and pay for it right away. I ask for payment within 10 days and an e-mail within 3 days. Even 5 or 7 days for payment is reasonable, however, if paying by check or money order it could take that long or longer to get to the seller. I also check the language of the folks, buyers or sellers, in their negative feedbacks. When in doubt don't bid or sell to or from that person. There could be clues as why you should stay away from that person. All in all nearly all my Ebay sales and purchases have been good ones.
Wish I had more vintage stuff to list on Ebay!
