Hi Mark,

You ask some interesting questions about 3ttt stems. I have an all original Masi Special that I got from Faliero at the Vigorelli in 1962 that has a 3T stem. Like yours it says "Made in Italy" on the right (drive side) and "Gran Prix" on the left side. Now the derivations: instead of Italy, may stem says "Jatly." Clearly a factory error because "J" does not appear in the Italian alphabet. The bar clamp portion of that stem also says "Special" in a script style, and there are NO markings on the upright portions of the stem like the one in your photograph (which says "Special" on the drive side). I also have another (later 1965) 3TTT stem which has the word "Special" stamped on the upright portion of the drive side and "3TTT" on the left side. But the words "Made in Jatly" now appear on the left side of the stem. This version, like yours, does not have ANY markings across the bar clamp portion of the stem.
