Hi Adam,

I had a conversation with Peter Weigle about mounting the dia-compe on posts. It looks tricky. The standard mount version has one spring that is "U" shaped and does both sides, traveling across the back bridge.

Peter told me that there was a kit sold to convert the standard mount center pulls to the direct frame mounted posts and washers. This kit is shown in the 1986 catalog, (Scroll down to a couple of pages from the end to see the accessories: )

Good luck finding them. Peter had no idea about what you do about the spring, since it looks like you need to replace the original one with two separate pieces. Theoretically, I suppose they could be fabricated. Maybe a trip to Tokyo to search the shops for the replacement kits? Japan in apple blossom season sounds nice.

It's here:

So I suppose it's possible. Does it take special bosses? Does it work with Mafac bosses? Does one merely substitute Mafac springs?

Many questions!

Thanks for your help.
