i think they came in 25,4 as well as 26.0.. i seem to recall they are labeled on the quill although i have only personally dealt with the 26.0.. luckily cinelli made bars in that size and i have used them together with no problems

i think one key part of getting a tight grip with these shimano stems is using their tool to effectively tighten things down.. it's basically just a 6mm allen key (no ball end) with a small length of tubing to slip over the end for a longer lever arm; easy enough to jury-rig...
