Sounds like a Competition to me.
My brother has a black one just like it. I've been trying to "weasel" it from him for years. I have the original crank set and derailleurs so far.
They were great "poor man's" racers in their day. A guy named Russ Maron was blowing everyone in southern new england away on one in the 70's.
