The "bridge" is part of one arm only, the inner arm which comprises the entire QR mech. The upper end moves within a slot when the QR lever is moved. The Outer arm is in no way connected to the bridge, so no way can the bridge link the two arms. The problem here is that you're looking at a two-dimensional picture. I like these brakes. I've even pressed threaded inserts into their cable stops, and fitted adjusting barrels, for use on bikes w/o adjusters at the levers.
