I believe it was the BOB list that I'd heard that Sheldon was suffering from Multiple Sclerosis (MS). Many of you may know someone suffering from this terrible disease which affects people in many different ways.
I feel honored that I did get to meet him at the Cirque, and a number of CR listees met him on one of Ken Sanford's rides in the DC area. I also got to see him and his wife hammering the hills on his Piccio fixed gear tandem on a East Coast Tandem Rally in Pennsylvania a few years ago.
He certainly was an inspiration to hundreds, thousands? of bikers around the world. My heart goes out to his family, and for the terrible loss for all the cycling community.
