But how could you have a "full Campy" bike, without the brakes? My Centurion Pro came with Campy, except for the brakes. I longed for a Campy brakeset, looking at the $70.00 price tag, not quite being able to afford it (as the complete bike was $450, $70 was pretty expensive and extravagant). I must have stopped and looked in that glass showcase ten times before I finally bought them. I can't tell you how happy I was!
When I started racing, I had to scrimp and find the cheapest way to get things done. I polished and rebuilt Weinmann 500s for my Wizard crit bike (a bike that Baylis built, very much like a track bike).They seemed to work OK, though I was fortunate and never really had to use them to stop suddenly.
