Umm, Nor, you're disturbing my dellusions of grandeur.... But seriously, while I may never load a crank or BB spindle like Eddy, and while I don't absolutely need any top-end equipment, I'd say brakes are the place where my needs come closest to a pro racer's. You don't need to be strong to push the limits on twisty decents... just skilled. I suspect there are a (very) few folks on this list who are at least as skillful as some pros. Did you ever see Ulrich on a descent? Well, he was no Eddy, and I'm not sure he was any more able to take advantage of good brakes than many of us.
