Hello all. Used to be an active list participant while living in San Luis Obispo, California. Moved to Portland in mid-2006 and only recently resumed lurking on the list.

NHBS is a great opportunity to re-acquaint with some list members met at various SF Bay Area events and Velo Rendezvous. I plan to attend Saturday.

Lucky to have met Larry Meyers and the Saturday evening event at the Recyclery will be a lot of fun.

I plan to display a couple bikes with an Ed Litton tie-in.

Will have some parts for sale and am interested in parting with a 1972 Motobecane Grand Record (Yellow and Black model, 57cm, mostly original)for $500.

For those of you staying near the convention center, try J Cafe for Friday/Monday coffee, a block up the Max line from Red Lion.

Try the MAX train line, just get on going West. Convention center is in the "fareless square" (it's free to ride), go West towards Beaverton/Hillsboro across the river into down town. Get off at Pioneer Square and wonder around, over to the Pearl district too.

Hoping you enjoy Portland. It does rain, but the riding in the city is fantastic, people friendly and there's lots of beauty and beer to be found. If we meet, I'll be happy to recommend spots of interest or places to eat and drink.

Cheers,

John Siemsen
