I find it hard to believe that Weinmann centerpulls are getting such a bad rap. I do remember that they were hard to center but after a few days of fiddling, I recall I could get them dead on and consistent. Ok, so they weren't easy to set up but there was a quality about them that was unquestionably solid - like a powerful sturdy and well made piece of machinery. I do not recall using any sidepull then or since which gives me that same over-engineered feeling. They were a great value too. I must say that I really enjoyed looking at them too. I think they were pretty - from the dramatic sweeps of aluminum to the distinct red name plate. The only thing that matches its dramatic macho look was the off topic Campagnolo Athena or the monoplaner or the Delta brakesets. Please, someone agree with me on this one.
