Lou : One more time ... Sheldon has left an answer for us. See this link, and look for the "Dishonesty in Sizing" paragraph. http://sheldonbrown.com/tire-sizing.html Otherwise ... do remember to account for rim width differences. --- Sorry ... no help here on the "SL" Regards, Tory Werne Woodstock, Georgia USA ------------------------

While frying my brain in the hot sun of south Florida this weekend, several questions came to mind:

1. If I compare 27x 1" tires to 700x25, one would think that the 700x25 would look thinner, but not my experience. Likewise, 27 x 1 1/8 seems narrower than 700x28 and 27 x 1 1/4 certainly seems narrower than the Gran Bois 700x30. Am I missing something in the calcution of converting inches to center with 2.54 x 1 inch?

2. Second, is the SL of Columbus SL a literal translation of Super Leggere(a) or Super Light? Does anyone know if the same SL translation
was
used for
531SL?
