Does anyone know how you can identify the "vintage" of Kreitler rollers? Years ago, I bought an aluminum set, but they didn't resemble any of the current production at the time (at least from what I could figure out), which was probably about '99 or so.

Also, my set has a little roller/pulley on the side rail just in front of the middle roller. Does anybody know what this is for? My guess is a fan attachment, but I can't understand how that would hook up and operate. I can't remember which side the pulley is on, but there is no second belt track on the middle roller (if it is on the non-drive side) and if the pulley is on the drive side, I still don't understand how a fan would hook up.

And of course, Kreitler rollers from the 70s. I have the PVC ones and back then I wished I had the aluminum ones, but the PVC ones are going strong after 30 years so I guess they're fine. These have the addition of an off-topic quiet Minoura mag trainer bolted on to the frame with a remote resistance selector so I can vary workout better.
