I found a reference in an Italian article that Cicli Biemezzata ultimately became Cicli Haros also of Padova. Cicli Haros is currently in business so I have sent an email, in Italian, to them. If they reply with any details of the history of BMZ I'll post it here.

snip: Just came across this while trying to find out more about BMZ or Biemezzeta in Padova:
didn't find much about BMZ and besides what a Google search turned up (including CR list discussion about a Paolo Alto) precious little- even in Italian. Does anyone have a good resource or web page about BMZ or other Italian contract builders?
I now own a Billatto built Greg Lemond Team Z TSX bike and a delightful BMZ Lazarretti. Apparently I specialize in Italian contract builder bikes... not sure how that happened.
