I believe the first version came out in 1948 or 49. These are very rare and were only made in small numbers due to the fact that they were VERY pricey ! I don't know exactly when the 2nd version came out but think it was by th e 1960's.
Type 2 could be had with steel or alloy cages in road or track style, all o n the same pedal body. They were never available with Ti spindles to the be st of my knowledge. With both ball and needle bearings greasable from an end cap fitting, repla cable cages and classic good looks, whats not to like! A great pedal, one o f my favorites.
