Subject: [CR]RE: Italian threaded hubs?

Kevin asked: Got the chance to get a pair of Record SF hubs, but their 'Italian threaded' Am I correct in thinking Italian and British threads are OK to mix,

I'd like to fit a British threaded freewheel, or alternatively are Italian freewheels readily avaiable?

I sez: It's been my understanding is that you can put a British freewheel on an Italian threaded hub, but you can't go back after doing so. The threads are a "Class B Fit" which slightly damages the threads. As long as you don't try to switch back and forth, you should be safe.
