Those are the "split-arm" design I described in my original post. I believe those were successors to the original DA side-pulls (there was also the earlier center pull DA). If the original DA/Crane group was introduced in '73, I would have thought the second version would have appeared about 5 or 6 years later, but Paul's '81 date is probably right.
